Thing #4

I read dy/dan (Mr. Meyer): Why I Don’t Assign Homework ,CoolCatTeacher (Vicki Davis): Spies Like Us,EduBlog Insights (Anne Davis): A Rationale for Educational Blogging , NeverEnding Search: PowerPoint Reform – A First Chapter, Extreme Biology: Imagine Turning On the Faucet and Nothing Coming Out.  My two favorites were A Rationale for Educational Blogging and PowerPoint Reform – A first chapter.  In A Rationale for Educational Blogging I can see were blogging would be a great way to keep the kids up to date on what is going on in the classroom and a great study guide.  I know from listening in on conversations in the class they definitely check their facebook and twitter pages often, probably more often then they open their books to study.

  1. Sounds like you are off to a great start! The Blog looks great. I also read “Why I Don’t Assign Homework” he gives an interesting perspective. One I know my students would agree with:)

  2. I know students and parents these days do use twitter and facebook alot and using a blog for study guides as well as more detailed lessons would work for these parents. What do we do about those who don’t want to even venture there.

  3. It’s true! I’m sure our students are on the computer WAY more than they are studying! =)
